Barbara L. Fonner

Barbara L. Fonner, 86, of Villa Grove passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Newman Rehab and Health Care Center in Newman, IL.

Barb was born on February 11, 1938 in Tuscola to Louis and Lelia (Wengler) Reeder.  She married Kenneth Fonner on October 2, 1955.

Barb is survived by three children, Kenny Fonner, Mike (Malea) Fonner, and Teresa (Al) Renken; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Fonner; parents, Louis and Lelia Fonner; 3 sisters and 1 infant brother.

Barb was a homemaker for the first part of her life taking care of her children and everything else around the house.  She and her husband then opened their first business together in Villa Grove called the Donut Hole.  After several years of running that business, they decided to open The Lounge which was a bar by the now Dollar General, built The Four Way Stop and kept it open for 36 years, and also opened an ice-cream shop in Villa Grove.  Barb and her husband really enjoyed opening and working these small businesses in Villa Grove alongside their kids.

No services will be held at this time.
