Robert G. Mann

Robert Gene Mann, 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 1, 2024.

He was born in Tuscola, IL on October 27, 1949.  He met Donna Cook in July of 1967 and married his beautiful “Sweety” in August 1967.  Robert and Donna had four children, Robert W., Terry A., Julie D., and Rebecca D. all of whom he is “very proud”.  Robert is grandpa to 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Robert grew up in Camargo, IL with his parents George L. Mann and Willie M. Quick Mann for 17 years.  Robert had four siblings, Allen, Marie, Wilma, and Marion all of Illinois.

Robert worked in maintenance for approximately 30 years for AC and heat appliances, then worked for the US post office for 11 years until he retired.  Upon retirement he and his wife Donna moved to North Carolina.

Robert served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years and was honorably discharged as E5 Sgt. Robert went to school all 12 years and graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1967.

With Robert being a Christian since childhood he has always said “Going home is a win for me”.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m - 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Joines Funeral home in Villa Grove with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Camargo Cemetery with military rites.
