Kenneth M. Fonner

Kenneth M. Fonner, 86, of Villa Grove passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Kenny was born on October 20, 1937 to William and Velma (Pyles) Fonner in Villa Grove.  He married Barbara Reeder on October 2, 1955.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Fonner; three children, Kenny Fonner, Mike (Malea) Fonner, and Teresa (Al) Renken; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.

Kenney worked for the Local 380 Ironworkers for over 20 years.  He and his wife then opened their first business together in Villa Grove called the Donut Hole.  After several years of running that business, they decided to open The Lounge which was a bar by the now Dollar General, built The Four Way Stop and kept it open for 36 years, and also opened an ice-cream shop in Villa Grove.  Kenny and his wife really enjoyed opening and working these small businesses in Villa Grove alongside their kids.

No services will be held at this time.
